KeenMind features in medical text books

25 February 2015

Two new medical text books have been published in recent months that both discuss the research and evidence behind some of SFI’s clinically proven products.

The European text Brain Aging and Therapeutic Interventions was published in December last year, with contributions from the leading researchers in their respective fields. This book discusses the most current research on factors affecting the aging brain and treatment options. One of the chapters is devoted entirely to herbal cognitive enhancers, and emphasises the importance of a seed-to-patient process to ensure consistent therapeutic quality from batch to batch. The chapter includes reference to the evidence for KeenMind’s indications for use, including its cholinergic and antioxidant effects.

Advances in Natural Medicines, Nutraceuticals and Neurocognition is a new Australian text, published in February of this year. Edited by Melbourne-based Professors Con Stough and Andrew Scholey, this book examines the latest research on natural and herbal medicines in the field of cognitive health. Many different substances are discussed within the text, which includes a chapter on the standardised extract of Bacopa monniera found in KeenMind. This particular extract is unique, as it has been the subject of extensive research for over 40 years by the Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI) in India, and more recently here in Australia.

These publications confirm the role of SFI in the continuing development of high quality, clinically proven natural medicines.
